For those of you who know me already, and who have visited my site before during its construction process, it might have caught your attention that this is the third time there has been a “site launch” announcement.
Well, this time, it’s for real.
With almost all the sections, even those under construction, having been worked and developed for the final stage of release, I am now proud to say that I have completed the hard part of making a website: preparing the infrastructure the whole thing will run on.
Making a blog isn’t as easy as it sounds. I was overconfident that I could tackle it with my above-average knowledge on the technicality of the whole deal, but I was quite intimidated when I first unzipped the files that comes with the Wordpress.org download. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a very easy, user-friendly, open-source and free system/script to implement blogs on personal webspaces, without having to become a member on other sites offering blog services. It gives almost limitless customizability, which is actually the painful part. It took me days, weeks, months to fully customize the blog, which could have been launched much sooner if I just used one of the templates that came with the package, or downloaded one of the free ones out there.
I just wanted to make sure, however, that this website is not only mine, but it’s a part of me. It should represent me, it should carry me.
I think I have been successful to a certain extent, although there are still parts here and there that I am not necessarily pleased with. I won’t be throwing the towel, but I will just accept them as simply the reflection of my nature; if this site is supposed to mirror me, it cannot be perfect, as I am not perfect, as nobody is perfect.
I hope you enjoy your stay here, and don’t forget to add the RSS feed to your watchlists.
